The summer season is over and it is time to take stock of the first results. The year was “pepper”, as the pepper crop turned out to be excellent. Old, well-known varieties have shown themselves well. But we are interested to learn about the news. Most summer residents are interested in large-fruited varieties, with thick walls, sweet and juicy. Introducing cube-shaped, elongated-cube-shaped peppers and varieties of peppers such as Rotunda or Gogoshara. Choose!

We recommend a novelty of sweet pepper - White bull. The variety is distinguished by a friendly return of the crop as soon as possible. The cuboid fruits of this variety reach a mass of 220-250 grams and the main crop (8-10 fruits) is concentrated in the lower tiers. So far later ripe, cuboid varieties (e.g. pepper Spanish bull), gathered color, this variety was already ready for harvesting.

Large-fruited record beat sweet pepper Cockatoo yellow - Its elongated cuboid fruits (Lamouillot variety) reached a mass of 390 g, and the average weight was 300-350 g. Today it is the largest fruit variety. A little less mass of pepper Cockatoo orange, but the same fragrant, with juicy thick walls.

By the way! You can increase the yield of peppers using some techniques of agricultural technology - for example, removing inflorescences ("crown") in the first fork of the stem. Such pinching contributes to better fruit setting and early ripening. Agronomists often use this technique when growing tall varieties of pepper in greenhouses.

The champion in early ripeness among the cuboid varieties of peppers was Amber Cup. This variety combines early ripeness with excellent setting, a fairly large fruit (up to 250 g) and an excellent pepper aroma. And this is not surprising - orange peppers are considered the most delicious by many chefs.

Cube pepper Milky Way weighing 200-250 g, also has excellent taste. The wall of the fetus is strong, with a light crunch, 6-7 mm thick, juicy. The color of the unripe fruits is yellowish white, the ripe ones are yellow, glossy. Universal use: fresh and for home cooking.

Tested peppers Background Baron Red, Background baron yellow and Baron orange background. These are Rotunda type peppers, with heavy, flat-rounded ribbed fruits resembling small pumpkins in shape. The average fruit weight was 150-170 g, and the wall thickness during regular watering and top dressing reached 9-10 mm, which is close to the maximum for sweet pepper.

Everyone who likes to experiment in their own area with unusual varieties of peppers is recommended to grow all three varieties at once Von Baron - Red, Yellow, and Orange.

Of course, summer residents want to get a pepper crop early, because our summer is short. We advise to plant small, but very early and productive varieties not only in greenhouses, but also in open ground under a film. Low, thanks to the shortened internodes, bushes of sweet pepper quickly form many red or bright yellow fruits. In the open ground, such varieties do not require formation, and how to properly tie up peppers can be seen in our photos.

With this method of plant garter, it is not necessary to place support for each bush, it is enough to place the pegs in 1.5-2 m and pull the twine in two rows. Our new varieties of early peppers will be rewarded with a good harvest.

Sweet pepper Lantern - recommended for cultivation in open ground and film greenhouses. A plant of medium height, with shortened internodes. The fruit is conical, 2-3 chamber, 10-12 cm long, with juicy walls 5-6 mm. The color of the unripe fruit is light green, the ripe is sunny yellow. Weight 140–200 g. Recommended for fresh consumption, and when frozen, retains its taste and aroma.

Bell pepper Generosity easily adapts to adverse growing conditions, without losing large-fruited and productivity, even in open ground. The plant is semi-spreading, 60-100 cm high. The fruits are heavy, 130-150 g, cone-shaped, with walls 6-8 mm thick, when ripening, they change their color from yellowish green to red.

Sweet pepper Prize-winner - one of the earliest ripe varieties (from seedlings to technical ripeness for about 100 days). Thanks to this, a good crop is formed even in regions with a temperate climate and a short growing season. Suitable for growing in open ground and film greenhouses. The plant is slightly leafy, tall (up to 1.6–1.8 m in the greenhouse). The fruit is cone-shaped, 2–3-chamber, with juicy walls 5 mm, 10–11 cm long. Weight 100–120 g. The color of the unripe fruit is yellowish-green, the ripe red, glossy.

One of the largest varieties of early ripening pepper Sweet tooth Suitable for growing in open ground and film greenhouses. The plant is low, medium-sized, with shortened internodes. The fruit is cone-shaped, with juicy walls 5–7 mm, 10–12 cm long. Weight 180–220 g. As it ripens, it changes color from light green to glossy red. The fleshy, sweet fruits have excellent palatability.

Not inferior to pepper Sweet tooth large variety new variety Thick cheeks. Fruits are red, prismatic, ribbed, with a mass of 140-280 g, a length of 12.5 cm, with a bright pepper aroma.

In our opinion, pepper turned out to be one of the most interesting Dzhigit. Dzhigit - sweet pepper, although it looks very much like hot peppers. The variety Dzhigit is an early ripe, very productive, combining an exotic dark purple color of the fruit with an unusual shape. Despite the proboscis shape of the fruit, characteristic of hot pepper varieties, this variety has a very sweet pleasant taste if harvested fully ripened. No need to rush to harvest such pepper, it is better to wait until the color of ripe pepper becomes red and glossy.

The fruit is 4–5 mm thick, 15–17 cm long, and weighs 50–80 g. Pepper is grown mainly in sheltered soil, as it often reaches a height of 2 m. Such peppers can be used both fresh and for harvesting.

Have a good harvest!
